The Bronte's father was a clergyman from near Rathfriland in county Down before moving to England. Not many people know that the girls spoke with a Nothern Irish accent as they lost their English mother at such a young age. The sisters, Charlotte (1816–1855), Emily (1818–1848), and Anne (1820–1849), are well known for their novels Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre and Tennant of Wildfell Hall.
