John Hewitt Suite

Hewitt was an artistic director at the nearby Ulster Museum, where he formed an art movement with Middleton and Luke the painters. He wrote books on both artists and championed their work.

The room has a mural of a scene of our local towpath and Edenderry Mill by Luke with some of Hewitt’s books to read. Hewitt bust looks out over the area where he was educated and spent his life. He studied at Methodist College, Queens University and Stranmillis College. Loved ones celebrated his life at the local Lyric Theatre.
