Hillsborough Castle Illuminated Trail through Festive Gardens

Where: Hillsborough Royal Castle (just 20 mins drive away)

When: 1st December to 1st January

What to expect: The gardens of the royal palace are illuminated with over 1 million lights to make a magical trail full of magic and wonder. Glistening trees, flickering flames, giant baubles and jewel like colours fill the open air garden under the stars. Enjoy toasted marshmallows, hot chocolate and other festive delicacies with talented street food vendors in the gardens


Edwardian Christmas Evenings at Cultra Folk Park

Where: Ulster Folk Park 10 miles away?

When: 6th and 10th 17th December

What to expect: Take a stroll back in time through cobbled streets into old world candle lit houses with chestnuts roasting on open fires. Enjoy traditional decorations and watch willow working and seasonal crafts just as it was done in edfwardian times.

Witness the festivities in tea lane and then compare to how the bank managers family would have celebrated 100 years ago. Enjoy cinnamon toast off the open hearth and drink mullled wine just as in days of old.


Christmas Special - Murder She Got Wrote Off

Where: Accidental Theatre

When: Fridays and Saturdays in December

What to expect: A Belfast take on Jessica Lansbury’s detective series where the audience partake in a drinking game in a hilarious and farcical adaption. Fancy dress optional. Silly sense of humour essential.
